May/June 2017

Dear Pastors, Churches, and Praying Friends,

Thank you for your continued prayers and support for our family. Many of you may have already heard by now, but some of you have not. We were expecting our first daughter to be born on July 14 of this year. However, our baby girl, Layna Jewel, passed away unexpectedly in Beverly’s womb on Tuesday, May 16. Beverly proceeded to deliver her two days later on Thursday, May 18, 2017. With God’s help, along with an outpouring of support from family, friends, and our home church, we buried our beautiful daughter on Tuesday, May 23. This was perhaps the hardest thing either of us has ever had to do. But we know that it is the Lord that gives and takes away… blessed be the name of the Lord. Our deepest and most sincere thanks goes out to you all for the many heartfelt prayers and letters of encouragement, as well as the love gifts sent. All of these things has helped us in a way that words cannot describe. May God bless each of you.

As of right now, we have a little over 75% of our needed monthly support. Our travels have slowed down immensely in light of what happened with the passing of our daughter, but the Lord has continued to raise our support through it all. This has been a great encouragement to us. During these summer months, we plan on getting passports for our sons, Landon and Laban, and applying for our visas.

We celebrated our anniversary on May 15, the very day before our Layna passed away. God has blessed us with seven wonderful years of marriage. Both of us are excited to see what the next seven years will hold. In the past two months, the reality of us moving to Scandinavia has grown closer, and the sweetness of Heaven and our desire for it have grown greater. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 5:10-11

Trusting Him,
