Worship MinistryOur worship ministry desires to help lead our people into a deeper relationship with Jesus through praise and worship, music, drama, video, and other elements. We Contact the Worship Department
Potential visitors are often curious about the “style” of our worship services. Hopefully, the following information will provide a clearer picture of what you can expect at Baptist Temple. We represent people from all walks of life, of different ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds. However, we’re united as one in the Lord Jesus Christ – and desire to worship Him!
We sing songs that are biblically-centered and Christ-honoring. Our musical style may be best characterized as “blended,” meaning we enjoy everything from contemporary, traditional, southern gospel, black gospel, and more. We feel that style isn’t nearly as important as the One we’re singing about. Our musicians play many instruments, including piano, keyboards, drums, woodwinds, guitars (and more) to accompany our worship services and special events.
Ultimately, our prayer is that when you attend a worship service at Temple, you’ll leave having spent time worshipping the One who is worthy of our praise – Jesus Christ!
God uses Temple’s Celebration Choir to share the Gospel through song and lead our church family in worship. They sing in the Sunday morning worship services and for other special events and seasonal productions. Rehearsals are every Sunday afternoon. Rehearsal times change seasonally, so check your Sunday bulletin or call the church office for this week’s schedule. Worship Choir is open to high school age and up. Auditions are not required and sight-reading is not required, though it is helpful! If you have questions, contact our Worship Pastor.
Praise Team and Band
We are blessed at Temple to have a very gifted group of singers and musicians who make up our Praise Team. They use their musical gifts to help lead our church family in praise and worship. We’re always on the lookout for new musicians to join our team. If you’re interested, speak with our Worship Pastor Nick Burke. We usually require that instrumentalists be proficient on their instruments and be able to sightread. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings.
Our Tech Team volunteers assist with the “behind the scenes” technical aspects of our worship ministry. This includes, media, sound, lights, and more. If you’re “tech-minded” and are interested in serving, contact our Worship Pastor.
Our Children’s Choir sings seasonally for holiday productions and special services or events. They’re led by our Children’s Director, Alicia Burke.
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!”
– Psalm 100:4
