Pulpit Committee Notes: September 2, 2017

Attendees: Dale Carpenter, Sam Tuttle, Rod Denman, Jeremy Mullins, Wayne Hudson, Joe Hudson, Tyler McDonald and Dave Roberts.

Sam opened in prayer.

The Deacons agreed that CBT should help in some way the victims impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Jeremy contacted Doug Harris, pastor of Central Baptist Church in Deer Park Texas, to see what the needs are in his area. Doug responded and said it would probably best to send money, so water, tools, gift cards and other needed items can be purchased locally. Jeremy made a motion to have a second offering at the end of the service Sunday morning for anyone who would like to support the Harvey Relief effort. Wayne seconded the motion. Unanimously agreed. Steve will make the announcement Sunday morning.

Dale will make another announcement to the congregation at the end of the service Sunday morning to let them know the progress on our search for a pastor.

Live streaming of our services on Facebook will be shut off before the invitation response out of respect for the congregation’s privacy.

Joe Ferreira insists on paying half of the airfare to come to Connersville, because he believes he should be equally vested in this endeavor.  Dale made a motion to reimburse the other half of the airline fee when Joe becomes pastor of CBT. Seconded by Rod. Unanimously agreed.

Note: We need a new pastor orientation checklist added to the online Deacon page, so items can be checked off as they are fulfilled. Tyler agreed to create this.

Dale closed in prayer.
