TASK NAME: Add new POST to DEACON website page

 

GENERAL INFO:

The steps below will outline how to add new POST to the DEACON website page such as Meeting notes or Pulpit Committee notes.

 

TASK STEPS:

1. Login to the Baptist Temple Website:  www.baptist-temple.com/wp-login

Use the account name:  deacons@baptist-temple.com

Password:

2. This will open the deacon webpage
3. At the top of the page is an edit menu. Look for the “+ NEW”
4. Look for “POST” and then click on it
5. This opens up the New Post window
6. Enter a Title for the new post
7. On the right hand side of this page YOU MUST select 1 of 3 categories:

  • DEACON MEETINGS
  • Pulpit Committee,
  • Pastoral Resume
8. Then you can enter text into the edit window.
9. You can also upload any documents into the post by clicking the “Add Document” button
10. Just under the text edit window, there is an “Excerpt” area. Use this to copy the 1st few words or sentence, or type out any statement that will be the initial display people will see when reviewing posts.
11. Next on the right hand side, in the Publish window, Click Publish.
12. LAST: IMPORTANT!!!!!
13. On the left hand side tools, click on the Media Library tools
14. If you uploaded a file, click on the file to edit it.
15. On the right hand side, in the “Restrict Access” window, check “Protect this page and its descendants”
16. Select Deacons
17. Click Add
18. Then click the “UPDATE” button
