Attendees: Pastor Joe, Charlie Cox, Brandon Shoults, Wayne Hudson, Larry Mullins, Mike Bell, Dave Roberts, Jim Bennet, Dustin Back (Trustee Chairman)

Charlie opened in prayer.

The minutes of June 2nd were read. Charlie made a motion to accept the minutes. Wayne seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.

Charlie reminded deacons to stay in contact with their shut-ins. Our church bulletin is now being mailed to our shut-ins on a weekly basis.

Pastor gave an update on Nick and Alicia. They are continuing to look for a house and a job for Alicia. Pastor asked the deacons to keep both matters in prayer. Alicia has an interview on Thursday, July 12th for a counselor position at Head Start for Fayette County Schools. Pastor will have a conversation with Nick about moving forward without a job for Alicia, if necessary.

Jim and Charlie shared more detailed information about the proposed bus. Three vendors were researched and the committee decided to go with Carpenter Bus. They are the largest church bus dealer in America.
Bus details:
2018 Starcraft on a Ford 550 chassis
Seats 32 passengers
Gasoline Engine
7 year, bumper-to-bumper warranty
Maintenance on the bus can be performed locally
Carpenter will provide a list of specifications and a breakdown of cost
Purchase price is $89,500
Trustees will meet July 14th to approve recommendation
A bus, similar to our specs, will be onsite on July 22nd for the church to see during the AM service
Final approval of the bus purchase will be decided by a church vote during the PM service
Throughout the month of August, Pastor will ask congregation to give toward the bus purchase above and beyond their tithes.
Mike Bell will be in charge of the graphics design for the new bus

Dominga Bently has been asked to head-up the bus ministry.

A convicted child molester, released from prison less than a year ago, has requested to attend to our church; and has provided a containment plan.
We don’t have the organizational structure, at this time, to be 100% assured our children will be safe; and Pastor does not want to take a risk with our kids. Pastor appreciates the man’s desire to be in God’s house, but will tell him “No” in a letter. Pastor will inform him that he can watch our services on Facebook Live. There may be other churches in town that can accommodate his situation. All deacons present verbally backed Pastor’s decision

The Fayette County Fair begins Sunday, July 29th. Pastor asked the deacons’ opinion about canceling the PM service, so the congregation can attend the Fair. Many church members will be there anyway due to their involvement. The deacons agreed. As an outreach on the 29th, we will order CBT wrist bands and encourage the congregation to hand them out at the Fair. Pastor’s goal is for CBT to have a booth at the Fair, starting next year.

No further business.

Charlie made a motion to adjourn. Wayne seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.

Brandon closed in prayer.
