Nick & Ashely Buthman:
- Pastor talked about search for youth and outreach pastor
- Update on the process that got us to Nick & Ashley
- Nick & Ashley gave us their testimony
- Deacons asked various questions
- Had some discussion about vision and work involved with a bus ministry
- Pastor has spoken with their pastor. He was very supportive and positive of both of them
- Pastor prayed and Nick and Ashley left
- Private discussion among Deacons followed
Trunk-or-Treat:
- Pastor feels the time for this event has passed and we need to discontinue it
- Feels we have other ministries that are better: July 3rd, Fair outreach, Sportsman Banquet
- George was the first one to bring it up and supported by Gwen
- The cost now outweighs the return for the focus of the ministry here
- Pastor would tell the church why this is the time for this decision
- Pastor discussed an idea of “house parties” that he has seen on other churches
- A few homes in neighborhoods would offer free hot dog cookout
- Pass out tracks and wrist bands and such
- Something like this takes ministry outreach to the community where we live and off campus
